Pico projectors are the smallest in the pocket projectors category of products. These have the ability to give projections of over 65 inches. The modern pocket projectors provide between 200 and 800 lumens and at resolutions in excess of 1080p.
The devices rely on solid state light sources such as the laser or Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). However, majority rely on the LED technology. Most of the portable projectors use the DLP technology.
The majority of the pocket projectors uses LED light sources and this ensures low power consumption in addition to a lamp life of about 30,000 hours.
The devices have a small footprint and ideal for applications that do not demand very high quality, otherwise, their performance is a bit lower than the traditional bulky full projectors. This is mainly due to the construction, low power design and space limitations hence inability to put many components. For these reasons, the project projectors require a bit darker rooms compared to the traditional full projectors.
